This Buttero Vegetable Tanned Leather comes from a long-standing tannery in Tuscany, Italy. They are well known for their traditional methods of vegetable tanning with tree barks that go back 100’s of years. They are a member of the exclusive Pelle Vegetale Consortium certifying they tan leather using the strict traditional vegetal methods. The Pelle Vegetale Consortium ensures the leather produced by the Italian tanneries are in sourced and tanned in full compliance vegetable tanning standards. This product includes a serialized certification tag for the Pelle Vegetale Consortium.
The Buttero leather has a rich, Christmas green color. It is a top-grade leather that is firm and fully vegetable tanned.
